Martyr's Park
Even in winter, there are many beautiful flowers and greenery. Green winters are big novelty for me - I must be the only Canadian who never went on vacation in the tropics as a kid. Not even Florida.
The caged bird (pictured) does not live in the park; there is one whole section of the park for set aside for people who want to bring their pet birds to the park. The noise was tremendous - there were at least 100 birds when I was there - all talking up a storm. It was the first time I had ever heard of taking your bird to a park for a bit of exercise (again, Canada). But it must be very beneficial for the birds - there certainly was a lot of bird socialising going on.
Some of these pictures have bit of cityscape peeping through in the background. The park itself is surrounded by busy streets (which are 8 lanes on average; 4 in each direction), expressways, and skyscrapers. Condo buildings and commerical buildings look the same - huge, towering behemoths.
That's it. My visit to Martyr's Park on Zhongshan Road in Guangzhou, China.
